Two Guys, One Vision
In 2011 Junior Morais, CEO and Co-Founder of Atlas Pavers, looked at Bay Area paver installation companies and saw opportunity. Over the previous five years Junior had become an expert in residential hardscaping. So, he asked himself, “Why not? I’m already doing the job, why not do it for myself?” Still, it wasn’t until Junior met Candido Silva, CFO and Co-Founder of Atlas Pavers, that things began to take shape. Silva put up the money for the contractor’s license and passed the test in March 2012. And so Altas Pavers was born.
It started out with just two guys, working out of Silva’s 1999 Crown Victoria, trying to earn a living. They were both hard workers and passionately customer focused. “I knew if we were 100% customer service oriented, that would lay the foundation for our reputation,” Silva said. “What we promise customers we’re going to do no matter what.” Now, Atlas Pavers is the number 1 paver installation contractor in the Bay Area with nine full time designers, dozens of installation crews, and thousands of happy customers.
That kind of growth isn’t just hard work, it’s the result of a process that’s been refined for years until it’s like clockwork. The process is broken down into four phases: Planning, Pre-Construction, Construction, and Installation. Each phase ensures that everyone is on the same page before moving on to the next. With open communication and collaborative problem solving, Atlas makes sure clients are happy. As Junior says, “Whatever it takes, we make sure the clients are happy. That’s personal to me. I put my heart into it.”
