Calstone Paving Stones

Calstone paving stones can be used for any project. However, they really shine when you’re going for a natural, geological look or “old world charm” because of their unique manufacturing processes and paver styles.

A Natural Look Through Dual-Mix Design

All of Calstone’s paving stones have two layers – what they call a “Dual-Mix Design.” The base mix, which makes up the body of the stone, is flexible, strong, and has a very low absorption rate. This base is covered by their patented “Duraface” technology. Essentially, it’s a smooth, dense, abrasion and chip resistant layer. Inside the duraface mix, Calstone blends up to six different colors, allowing for a more natural look. Calstone Quarry Stone, which was inspired by natural stone, is an excellent example of this process.

Antique Elegance, Modern Standards

If you love the look of old brick or cobblestone streets, then talk to your Atlas designer about Calstone’s antiqued paving stones. They use a “Barrel Tumbled Antiquing” process, which creates a naturally distressed appearance. So, when you put the Calstone Antiqued Mission down for your driveway or back patio, it’ll look like it’s been there for the last hundred years. Don’t worry, that look doesn’t come at the cost of durability. Calstone has rigorous antiquing standards that specify the length, width and depth of any scratches, chips, or abrasions, so that you can be sure your hardscaping project will last for the next hundred years as well.

Beautifully Supported

Another of Calstone’s more unique offerings is its new and improved Turfstone Concrete Grid Paver, the Turfstone II. This paver grid provides the structural support of pavement while still allowing grass to grow through the center of each grid square. This not only looks great, it also allows for much better water permeability. The result is an ideal solution for drip line areas, around old trees, or auxiliary driveways.

Similar to the antiqued paving stones, Calstone Roman Stones and AB Multi Wall reproduce the look and feel of natural stone. At Atlas, we love how the ten unique blended colors of the roman stone were designed to complement their paving stones. The Calstone Allan Block Walls are extremely efficient because they don’t require cutting, allowing most retaining walls to be built in one day. Together, these options provide a great deal of flexibility.
